Please check-in 30 minutes prior to departure. Every member of your party must check-in to sign a waiver and receive a boarding pass. Check-in for all Schooner Appledore tours in Camden is at the booth next to the boat – 18 Bayview Landing, Camden Maine 04083. We are directly across from the Peter Ott’s on the Water restaurant.
The Town of Camden offers free all day parking on Washington Street next to the public safety building. All of the other city parking is limited to two hours and strictly enforced.
As you can imagine, Maine has an abundance of wildlife and while we do not guarantee sightings, we often see seals, porpoises, bald eagles, ospreys and many other birds of flight.
We try to accommodate the needs of our handicapped passengers, however at low tide the boarding is very steep. Please call us to assist in planning the best time for your trip.
All guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please bring a valid, government issued photo ID if you plan on consuming alcohol.
Schooner Appledore’s Cancellation Policy: If your tour is cancelled due to the Captain’s discretion and/or weather then you will receive a full refund or option to re-book your tour on another date based on availability.
Guests cancelling their tour reservations 48 hours or more prior to departure are eligible to receive a full refund or can elect to re-book the tour on another date based on availability.
We are also pleased to now offer Trip Protection! For a small fee Trip Protection can be added to any booking allowing cancellation up to just 1 hour prior to departure! Trip Protection can be purchased at check-out.
Guests not purchasing Trip Protection and cancelling their tour reservations less than 48 hours before departure are not eligible for a refund and will forfeit 100% of their payment unless our cancellation insurance was purchased at time of booking.
We do not have lockers or storage facilities in our office. Parties are welcome to bring a backpack with personal belongings on our boats. However, if you have large luggage or suitcases these would be best stored at your hotel or vehicle.
Our sunset sails include cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables.
We offer a full cash bar on board and our drinks are reasonably priced. Try one of our famous Bloody Mary’s! Food is not provided on board but feel free to bring along your own snack!
Yes, Schooner Appledore is equipped to maximize your comfort with a head (that’s nautical for bathroom).
The city has restroom facilities right by our check-in booth.
The weather in Maine can change quickly, we recommend a light jacket, hat and sun screen. Also, remember your photo I.D. to show you are at least 21 years old if you plan on consuming alcohol.
It is customary to tip your crew and always appreciated. Similar to a restaurant, a 15-20% tip is appropriate.
